Changing timing belt whilst on engine stand, how should it be done?

Not done a disco one yet, but plenty of others. Just mark all the pulleys, make sure they all line up for when you put the belt back on. Simple.

    300 water pump failure

If it's p gasket, you'll see evidence of water running down block behind where pump bolts through, if you look from passenger side. I'd change the pump, they're cheap enough, and it's a doddle, as long as bolts not rusted solid......

what seats can you put in in 300 series

P38 front seats fit dead easily, took about half hour. Rear seat is a no go. Ultimately, whatever front seats you want will go in, just a question if how much time you want to spend fitting Em.

The impellers wear with time, so even If it looks ok and has no play in bearings, can still have failed.
