Agreed, seems like it's the glow plugs which could be the most likely culprit. Why would in the loom need to be changed though?

I did the exhaust before the intercooler / remap. The exhaust makes the turbo lag absolutely minimal, the larger intercooler increases the lag slightly. I have a boost box, but haven't taken the boost higher, it's at 1.2 now. I believe that taking it up to 1.4 would reduce the turbo lag again...

Could it all be a question of how warm/hot the engine is and the warmth of the air going into the engine? i.e. when the engine gets warmer, if the exhaust gas temperatures get hotter, does that in turn cause the air going into the engine to be warmed up by the heat in turbo, thus less...
