So it's summer and the A/C is getting switched on more and more often...I'm in Malta, you can't really live without an A/C.

It works fine and everything, it cools when it's supposed to etc. BUT, there are 4 air vents. Out of the 4, 3 just blow a really tiny bit of air, whilst the 4th (which is the 2nd one on the passenger side), blows a really lot of air. Which is stupid frankly, because I have to tilt the vent to my side just to feel the cool air. The rest of the vents lack sufficient blowing power to be felt in any kind of way.

Is that something particular to my Defender, or is this some common flaw? Can I fix it?

Does the air con need re-charging ( I think thats the phrase)?

My Dad's 110 TD5 has aircon and that isn't particularly great (its like getting coughed on by an asthmatic mouse) and he reckons it needs recharging but he just opens the flaps to let air in.

They are just a bit poor, the ducting is like something they use to remove exhaust from NASA rockets on the launch pad and the fan is similar to the fan used to cool your PC, also usually there are loads of huge air leaks.

I was rebuilding my dash tonight and I used duct tape on all the joints to get as much air to the right places as I can.

Another thing would be to partially block the passenger vent to increase air flow to the other ones.
