    Instead of removing VCU

    Just as a matter of interest, when I brought my FL to Spain, I had removed the drive shaft. When I went to the IVA (MOT) they would not pass it, as it was not to Manu. Spec. I ordered a s/hand shaft from UK and job done no problem, very strict. Malcolm.

    Dood Day Hippo. The red wire was loose where it connected onto the brass fitting that the bolt goes through to secure the solenoid, it had not come apart, but as soon as we touched it to reinstall the solenoid, they parted ,so we fitted a new one. Malcolm.

    I was going to make my own from 1" hd stainless. with 1/2" links to the floor to a3"x2"x1/4 plate through the floor bedded in G12, then cut 3/8 alu., cheq., plate pop riveted on to it, would I need 2 or 3 links. Advice please. Cost €70 Malcolm.

    Pity I did not know that, in Jan we were over with our daughter she lives near Aberdeen, I went to an Indp. L.R. dealer in Banchory for a auto. gear box oil change, I have the receipt here 7ltrs. oil plus labour £179.92. Boy did get a shock. Malcolm.

    I'm almost reluctant to say how much I enjoy my 02 TD4. have it about a year now, 80,000 was very well looked after, bought it from a chap who worked in a 4x4 garage, before that I had a frontera 3.2, road tax for that in Ireland was €1640 p.a. now only €600. Malcolm
