Hi Folks, I am looking to buy some running boards for my FL2, seen some on evil bay for about £160, look ok, anyone bought any? or know of a better deal?

Make them stick out a mile. Useful for parking in supermarkets where muppets allow kids to throw open doors onto your car.
 
The £170 type are OK, they do the job but how long they will last is ???. You only get 3 brackets, and the fixing of these brackets is questionable on the light side !
If you have a HST with side skirts they are a pain to fit ( with some body cutting )
 
I was going to make my own from 1" hd stainless. with 1/2" links to the floor to a3"x2"x1/4 plate through the floor bedded in G12, then cut 3/8 alu., cheq., plate pop riveted on to it, would I need 2 or 3 links. Advice please. Cost €70 Malcolm.
