We've not long had antennaes fitted to the street lamps at work (some kind of radio control switch on thingy) lo and behold everyone with a land rover has to park elsewhere! Key fob and immobiliser issues.

The new unit will come with the lock attached, it is an easy job, I've just done it. Mine was about £35 for a pattern one but the key won't match any of the other locks. I used an old screwdriver as suggested on the shear bolts and there's about 3 multiplugs to plug in. Job done!

Turned i'd put the wrong oil in mine and it ran like a bag of spanners when cold, hated starting, smoked etc etc. when it came to oil change time I used semi synth 10w/40 and its made the world of difference! Next time I won't use the free oil given to me by a mate that services bin lorries!!

I have the same problem but with the vibration in every gear under acceleration. Just replaced the doughnut and greased ujs, diff oil was changed 5k ago. Mine also comes with a metallic squealing/grinding in 1st and 2nd! I'm off abroad for work on monday and need to get sorted ASAP. Help!!

Mine did that when the lift pump gave out. Fire her up and crack the bleed valve on the top of the fuel filter, if no fuel comes out because theres no pressure then its probably the culprit

How do i counter that? Whats involved in the doulble caden props? When i let it coast at that speed though its totally silent.

Yep serious. I was under the impression that a 2in lift wouldnt effect anything, maybe it was a bit of naivety on my part. I'll check the uj's but they were fine when i last checked 2 wks ago. Just want to know if anythings likely to fly apart.

Is there a way of sorting it ie a fluid change?

Ive just done my side lights in the pillars. I had to cut a small piece of the connector metal and join that via a spade terminal and wire to the plug. Actually that doesnt help much, can anyone describe it better?

Hello all, ive just done a 2in lift on the car using spacers. Im getting a raelly loud deep drone at 70mph in both 4th and 5th, it disappears though at about 75 or when i dip the clutch. Any ideas?

Ive just dicovered we have loads of push fit hose connectors in the stores at work, i'd like to make my own wading kit up but i dont know what size the axle breather plug thread is. Does anyone have any ideas? Also any other thread sizes for the gearbox, timing cover etc etc. Thanks

Easy peasy! 1/2 hr job tops. 15mm spanner on the belt tensioner, take the tension off and slip the belt off the alternator pulley (minding fingers), remove 3 wires on the back of alternator and undo the bolts (i think its 3, 1 on the top and the bottom 2 need a 10mm spanner/socket) Have fun!

I replaced one of the bearings in mine and had to use a mini blow torch, one of those chefs ones, cost about £15. With that and the new bearing for a fiver i reckon i saved about £90 over a new alternator!

Kenlowe do one but its about £250!!!

Mine is due too, with swiftcover at the mo and their premium just went up to £530 fully comp. 33yrs, no points, 2yrs ncb and a claim 6mth ago. Sure term direct come in at £290 for me.
