Evening, Been helping a mate with his def 90 today and were stumped with this one, can anyone help?
He went out yesterday and had a major loss of power which got worse and had him down to 15mph. There was no fuel coming out of the bleed screw on the filter housing so a new fuel filter was fitted yesterday, which didnt solve it but then the priming arm on the lift pump fell off! Today we stuck a new lift pump on (delphi) and that still hasnt cured it.
On start up she sounds like a bag of spanners blows out aload of white unburnt diesel smoke then dies, I thought the unions could be on the wrong way so we changed them and it made it worse.
Priming with the bleed screw open pushes fuel out the top as it should but it draws it back in on start up, also it pressurised the fuel tank and spat diesel out the filler cap.
Any ideas??
