Anyone in Essex with diagnostic tool?

Hi all, Went on holiday for a couple of weeks. Came back and my battery was dead, got it jumped, but seems when I tried starting it up before hand it had caused electical gremlins to emerge and all sorts of crazy errors came up (no ABS, trac ctrl, air susp, outside temp read -10 etc etc)...

Inactive Air Susp - It's finally happened :(

I know, heresy isn't it! Got a few ideas in my head though what I might replace it with. All are equally, if not more ridiculous in terms of running costs and breakability (TVRs, Astons etc). Rewmer - thanks for the tip on the good indie. I used LRS Engineering near Halstead last time and they...

Inactive Air Susp - It's finally happened :(

Thanks Saint, looks like I'm off to a garage then! I'm planning on changing cars within the next few months anyway so probably not worth buying a Faultmate or such in my case.

Inactive Air Susp - It's finally happened :(

Thanks for the quick reply. No light on the ride heigh selector. Isn't giving me any other warnings at the moment, just that. Is there a way to find out what code is being logged without plugging in a diagnostic tool?

Inactive Air Susp - It's finally happened :(

Hello all, Well after 3 years of relatively trouble free motoring and thinking I'd gotten away with it, I've finally had the dreaded 'Air Susp Inactive' message flash up! Nooooo! Is it simply a case of having the fault cleared using a plug-in? If so is there anyone in east Essex (Colchester...

New shape vogue being revealed !

I like it overall, like many saw the camo'd ones driving around the midlands in the last few months and wondered what was going to appear from underneath. As an owner of an early L322 it makes me happy that they haven't departed too far from the old design as it doesn't automatically make mine...

    Has anyone.....

13? Wowzer, that's bad! I get 20 out of mine and upto 24 on a long run. Maybe yours just need a good service? Have you checked your tyre pressure recently? You should be getting much more than 13 unless you are doing loads of short journies when the engine is cold or live somewhere extremely hilly.

    Has anyone.....

I looked into chipping/tuning when I first got mine. As alluded to by a previous poster, there is little you can do for a naturally aspirated engine. Most of the tuning for diesel vehicles simply increases the boost pressure of the turbos, but obviously this can't be done on a NA car. There is...

Is pulling the Plug(s) a good idea??

It's not the actual motor that fails, so unplugging it may not help that much. It is (as noted by others) a plastic clip which holds the motor onto the steering column. This can be fixed by cable tieing it on more securely (which is what I did after the clip broke).

Request for help - Not starting.

Hello again all, Well I feel a slight tit as it was, in fact, not broken at all! When it had stopped after initally starting, it had in fact just stalled (first time I've ever experienced this in 4 years of ownership, not sure what caused it - seems unusual for an automatic to stall), which...

Request for help - Not starting.

Hi all, Just when to go out this evening and my L322 4.4 won't start. It initially did, then died and wouldn't restart. The battery seems to be fine and I can hear the starter motor spinning fast, but the engine isn't turning over. It sounds as though the starter motor is spinning freely and...

    seeking revere badge

Think you have answered your own question there. You can only get them from Revere. If you don't have a Revere 'tuned'/styled RR then why would you want one of their badges anyway? I can imagine why they wouldn't sell you one, the same reason Overfinch etc won't do that either.

I want to hear more of that V8 noise...

Not sure about it being a 'reasonable price' but my quicksilver one sounds like a beast when you give it some beans, but is very quiet at cruising speed. Also alledgly gives an extra 17bhp, although I haven't dyno'd to compare, does feel like throttle response is better though.

    road perfomance

In the UK I tend to do about 65-70. At that speed I can get about 22-24 MPG. Anything over 70 and that seems to drop pretty quickly and on a long journey you definately notice the difference between 18/19 mpg and 23!! Used to drive everywhere fast, but after putting a car into a tree and a...

    More ebay comedy...

Ejector seat? Or maybe you press it and it instantly combusts the whole car into a flaming inferno - useful for avoiding embrassment if anyone you know sees you driving it!? (and probably less painful)

    where to look

Well the most obvious place is somewhere like Autotrader. I'm a big fan of Pistonheads website; about the same number of cars for sale on there, but often more interesting than the stuff on autotrader. I see it as being a case of people who buy cars to get from a to b buy and sell from...
