    Light bar

20” rigid radiance bar. Wired to high beams via a switched relay so it can be turned off in towns etc. Buy a good quality smaller bar. Easier to mount, less vulnerable to damage and still all the light you could possibly want

    Oil pump dilemma

hi all, I am in the process of a complete rebuild on my disco 200tdi. I stripped and cleaned the oil pump this afternoon for inspection and both the gears are worn and have minor pitting. However, the casing also has light scoring on it. You can just about catch it with a finger nail. My problem...

    Mantec spare wheel carrier fitting

Hi everyone, I know this has been covered loads of times before but my carrier is a little different to anything else I can find. I bought a mantec carrier off eBay (322331424840). Went to fit it today along with my new door and found that there was no instructions in the box, not a good start...

    Galvanised bits

If you do the bulkhead be prepared to loose 2 days of your life! I had had my dash out and sorted all my wiring a year or so ago and with no modifications or repairs it took me a full 12 hour day and probably another 6 the following day. A bulkhead presents a whole new degree of challenges and...

    Galvanised bits

I spent about 2 weeks in September doing the chassis and bulkhead on my 110. If you are a reasonably competent mechanic, have a good selection of tools, plenty of space, time and patience then i would honestly say it will be the best thing you ever do. Sad as it is i thoroughly enjoyed every...

No more billing Land Rover show

just seen this on billing aquadrome Facebook page. "After a full review of the events calendar at Billing Aquadrome, we regret to announce that we will no longer be hosting car show events after this year. Unfortunately we will no longer be able to accommodate these shows to a satisfactory...

    Light guard clearnce

That's loads of room then. Those guards look almost exactly the same as mine. That hinge looks to be mounted a lot further out than the Bearmach / Mantec ones? They are almost right next to the door so i'm thinking that would reduce the arc radius the wheel swings out on.

    Light guard clearnce

Hi everyone, I know the Mantec vs the others has been argued to death on here for spare wheel carriers but what are they like for clearance on the back corner if you have light guards fitted? I am not sure if i can justify spending Mantec money but i would like to keep my light guards if i can...

    200tdi alternator move

The finished product. Belt runs well clear of the bypass hose and the water pump so should be good by the look of it

    200tdi alternator move

I will put some more pictures up later once I have the belt fitted. Took me hours to get just the right height and positioning but I think it's just right now. Well worth doing for anyone running a 200tdi conversion

    200tdi alternator move

Thanks for the feedback. After a bit of head scratching I have come up with a slightly different set up to anything else I have seen. I am using the same pulley from the power steering pump and I have made a bracket to mount the alternator on top of the timing case where the air con pump could...

    200tdi alternator move

Yeah I did see that kit thanks. Only problem is that I don't have a double v crankshaft pulley or an air con idler and tensioner. By the time I add them to the price of the kit it is going to be £200+

    200tdi alternator move

Hi everyone, I've been looking for a way of moving the alternator on my 110 to the other side of my engine so it will be above the injection pump. It is a discovery 200tdi engine and the reason I want to move it is that the current set up is very tight with the intercooler pipe, pas pipes and...

Richards chassis fuel and brake pipe mounts

Richards chassis fuel and brake pipe mounts

Hi all, I've got a chassis on the way for my 110 from Richards but I am just wondering if anyone knows if they drill all the holes for the clips to hold the brake pipes and the fuel lines? Don't really want to drill the chassis to mount p clips if possible but I will need all the holes to be...

    Cambridgeshire to Mexborough with trailer

Hi all, I will be traveling from near Cambridge straight up the A1 to Mexborough (Richards chassis) the first week of August. If anyone has a chassis or anything else they want collecting and delivering along the way I might be able to help Matt

    Pressure washer recommendations

I've got an re109 stihl and that does the job perfectly. Pressure is not the be all and end all its the flow you need. Compare the specs and look at their weight. It's quite an eye opener when you see how light some of the cheapies are and that often reflects quality

    Painting galvanised steel

The main bit I will be painting is the new galvanised bulkhead I am getting but I also have a few other bits I want to paint. Not had any experience spraying and I would like to do it myself if possible so is it still possible to etch primer, prime and paint with brush and roller? If not I might...
