Hi,

I have a Karcher K2 and i've had it for a couple of years. The problem is it's not good enough to blast the thick mud from the underside of my Disco after going off roading. The specs say its max water pressure is 110 bar.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a better, more powerful pressure washer.

Thanks.

Does it suffer through lack of water throughput, for mud you really need more litres per minute

Possibly - If I want to get the thick mud off i have to get within about an inch and hold it there until it falls off. With the big "proper" pressure washers at the do it yourself cleaning places it comes off easy - but they don't like dirty 4x4s which is fair enough I suppose.

Last summer I treated myself to one of these
Amazon product
Which seems pretty effective for something around the £200 mark. The features that I like is that the pressure hose rolls up onto a spool out of the way, and that, most importantly, you can fit a right-angled nozzle on the end and clean the underside of the car most effectively.

Caked on mud will tend to take a while to break up and shift, especially if it has cow manure in it or it's dried. I just relax and let the machine take its time to do the hard work. It's a lot quicker than scraping it off by hand.

Get the K4. Does every job I need it to.

K2 is **** as its air cooled the K4 is water cooled so can run for much longer.

If you shop around they come up cheap sometimes, got mine off Amazon for £139

Hmmm, maybe one of these petrol driven bad boys? £240.
Wolf 200 BAR, 3000psi, 6.5HP Heavy Duty Petrol Driven Pressure Power Washer (sorry - link not working but put that in to Amazon).

I've got an re109 stihl and that does the job perfectly. Pressure is not the be all and end all its the flow you need. Compare the specs and look at their weight. It's quite an eye opener when you see how light some of the cheapies are and that often reflects quality

i used to have to do quite a lot of power washing at home for a small business that we had and I had a karcher,to be honest I was not very impressed so decided to get a decent pressure washer.
I spent around £400 on a petrol washer and to be fair it comes with a rotary nozzle and starts first pull every time, even after two years and the pressure is really good.
I searched on the internet for it and its a jetmac.
if you go onto www.jetmac.co.uk they have a good selection or there are many other power washers better than karcher.

hpe this helps.

Kranzle are superb, hard on the pocket but well worth it. I've had mine for nearly ten years and hasn't missed a beat yet.

+1 - they are a high quality machine.

+1 - agree with the rest too - but flow is the key.

Thanks all for your responses - I will do some more research with your feedback in mind!

Cheers.
