    Air suspension possible problem

Mine also did this very regularly. Alas I sold it, so I don't have any way to diagnose!

SLS Suspension Controller kits available :-)

Hi, The kit lowers the rear as much as the standard LR suspension remote - it doesn't lower right down onto the bump stops but I recall it being around 6 inches or so - I can't say I've measured it exactly. They are available - if you're interested, drop me an email [email protected]...

Lower you air suspension when required.

Hehe, thanks. Each solution has advantages and disadvantages. The advantage of mine is that by 'using' the SLABS ecu, it interfaces nicely with the original LR specs - you can't lower the suspension while driving etc. The disadvantage is that if the SLABS ecu screws up or the height sensors...

Is it possible to seal a very small ACE leak?

I haven't personally tried using stop leak on these systems - but my understanding is, as others said, that it works by swelling rubber seals. The other issue is these systems run at several hundred bar of pressure, hence needing decent pipes. If you've got a pinhole, the rest of the pipe...

Is it possible to seal a very small ACE leak?

The system as you currently have it is going to bite you in the ass one day when you need it, either in that the ACE will fail, or you'll have a large fluid loss, and end up knackering the pump. As mighty Yoda said, either do, or do not, there is no try. So, either rip the system out, or fix...

    Front Propshaft centre bearing query

Yah, if you go further down in the disco2 page, he mentions he changed the centre bearing. I did the same, and as he says, it comes with a new rubber dust sleeve. Probably worth changing it while you've got everything apart anyway. David

Not heard of it myself, and can't find a hit on google either. I'd ask your tester what he means!

Intermittent Starting Issue from Ignition Stage 2?

The solenoid is part of the starter motor assembly. An overhaul kit consisting of a new plunger and copper contacts is available usually via ebay etc. The symptom of the solenoid misbehaving is usually a click on turning key but if you look at the starter motor there is a thinish wire...

Intermittent Starting Issue from Ignition Stage 2?

Assuming this is a disco2? It could be the starter motor solenoid if there is a quiet click (This is quite common). Repair kit cheaply available on ebay. Alternatively, as you hint at, it could be a worn ignition switch contactor? David

    Steering wheel air bag

Depends, imho. If I didn't know something I was planning on doing might cause me to fail an MOT, I'd be grateful for someone to point it out!

    Steering wheel air bag

If the examiner knows it had SRS installed, isn't it an MOT fail nowadays if airbags are removed? (I doubt the examiner would know in a Disco 1, but presumably a Disco2 is a no-no...) David

    pro`s & cons

When I replaced mine on a W-reg (it was a 2 pipe regulator), the new LR one casting was a slightly different shape, and looked more sturdy and less inclined to warp. The casting also looked like the same as the one for the 3 pipe, but that opening wasn't machined out. David
