Job done, taken it for a short test drive & all seems well. New diff nice & quiet and no sign of gear oil dripping out. I never took any pictures, never thought. I'm going to strip my old diff just to see how much damage/wear there is........ I'll take pictures of the diff unit strip down...

Driveshafts both out, easy when you know how.....Thanks Matt1295. Old diff out, new diff up & bolted into place. I've cleaned & painted the sub-frame so not rebuilding the rest till paint is dry.

Job started.......... Stripping the rear driveshafts out is some job, I had hoped that I could get enough movement by just taking the 2 strut mounting bolts to hub......NO THAT DIDN'T WORK....... Start again in the with fresh head......lol

Hi All, I had oil leaking out from the propshaft oil seal on the rear diff. Took the propshaft off & found that the flange has excessive play. I then removed the oil level plug & found it covered in metallic gunk. Safe to say my diff is knackered, albeit quiet ie no whine coming from it...

Looks like my 2001 TD4 is leaking diesel from the plastic block below the fuel pump & filter housing N/S/F inner wing. The fuel line comes from the tank into this block then seems to split 3 or 4 ways. Tried to get a replacement via main dealer £900 got to buy the full set of fuel lines, tank...

Hi all, I've just bought a 2001 TD4 which still has the original radio cassette player. It only has one hole at each side for fitting a removal tool. I've got a few radio removal tools but none seem to fit. Does anyone know what tool is needed to remove this unit, I'm not wanting to destroy...

Hi, Just bought a TD4 what is the recomended oil grade, I thought it would be semi synth 10w 40. Someone I know uses fully synth 5w 30. Also how much does the TD4 take? Thanks for the advice peps

Got it!!!! It is coming from the compressor for the air suspension. My disco was converted to springs before I got it, so I've pulled to 2 multi plugs.......stopped ticking

It has been ticking now for over 30hrs. It is hard to pin point but I would say N/S/F possibly front passanger seat/underneath floor area!

Another noise today this time a I think N/S/F wheel bearing/hub?????? It is making a humming sound while travelling at speed and you turn the steering slightly to the right, come back to the straight ahead and the noise goes away........bloody thing
