Hi all,

I've just bought a 2001 TD4 which still has the original radio cassette player. It only has one hole at each side for fitting a removal tool. I've got a few radio removal tools but none seem to fit.
Does anyone know what tool is needed to remove this unit, I'm not wanting to destroy it, just wanting to fit a cd player.
Cheers

just needs undoing with an allen key, then it slides out.

not teaching you to suck eggs, you could fit a multi changer to the existing head unit, goes under the passenger seat (although some under the drivers seat).

when you change the head unit, don't forget to check the horn works afterwards, there have been some issues with changing the radio affecting this.

good luck.

Allen keys to remove as OP said, you could buy a connects2 like did which allows you to use an ipod or other mp3 player to the head unit by selecting the MODE button, it works by tricking the headunit into thinking there is a multichanger attached, they are about 25 quid, this is assuming that you have the BMW head unit which used from about 2001 onwards.
