Front Hub Carrier Balljoints

Hi All,

Was just giving my Disco 2 the once over & have noticed some play in the bottom balljoints.
Have priced up new ones at around £9.00 each didn't think it would be much of a job to change them!!!!! Then I had a read at the Haynes Manual!!!!!!! Landrover Special Tools required?????????

I have a well equipped toolbox with balljoint splitters etc has anyone on here got any advice on tackling these balljoints, ie I see I need to replace the driveshaft oil seal, am I better to replace the top balljoint at the same time? Is there anything else I should tackle while I am in there?

PS. Its a 2001 TD5 with around 112k on the clock

i got one of these to do mine and it worked well Ball Joint Service Remover Separator 4x4 Adaptors NEW on eBay (end time 14-Feb-10 19:48:57 GMT) gone up a bit in price from when i got mine (payed around £55-60 all in) and just used the basic kit along with some big socketts i had

yes did both and used genuine land rover parts so should be good for another 125,000 miles
