Hi all,

Just started to notice a strange noise after the starter has dis-engaged a sort of grinder slowing noise? Hard to describe but it is a new starter fitted just before Christmas plus the noise comes after the starter has dis-engaged.
It is the same noise as I get once the ABS has been activated ie hard braking on ice/slippy surface and the ABS comes in I get the same noise as I do when I start the car every-time now. It used to be now & again specially when cold but now it comes after every start. With my car being an Automatic I can feel the rumble through the brake pedal after start up. It goes away within seconds but there is definitely a strange rumble just after the initial start?
Any idea's is the ABS unit on the way out??????
Thanks for any information

There is an ABS start-up check which may be what you are referring too.

Start the engine with your foot on the brake and you will feel it.

Yep I can feel it through the pedal. Is that normal? I think it has progressively got louder, I don't remember hearing before!

Mine does it pal, there's a thread on here somewhere about it .it's normal something to do with abs

Another noise today this time a I think N/S/F wheel bearing/hub?????? It is making a humming sound while travelling at speed and you turn the steering slightly to the right, come back to the straight ahead and the noise goes away........bloody thing
