Yeah I guess so. The input gear that came off defo only had 2 thirds length of splines compared to the crossed drilled one that went on. The lt77 output shaft was only (i say only) 2 thirds Knacked. How odd.
pretty sure if you get a new crossed drilled input gear for the transfer box, they are desigened with much longer internal splines. Therefore it will make use of a nice bit of unwarn spline on the gearbox output shaft, which will solve your problem.
Unlikely that any of those will actually be 32 inches in real life.
I have a set of BFG Mud 285/75/16 and they measure 32 inches.
Don't need any lift with them and don't fit one unless you want 35s or something like that.
if the alternator belt is driven off the power steering pump it's a disco engine.
the only real difference between the 2 is the location of the water pump in the front casting.
