Had exactly the same problem, I had Federals on and they drove me mad, trying to find the cause of the steering wheel wobble. Balanced, swapped around, and numerous inspections. Put a set of Bridgestones on and now drives quiet and wobble free.

Think I have found it, I put the spare Goodyear on the front right and the wobble has gone, the rest of the tyres are cheap crappy Federals at £40 each (previous owner).

I recently bought an 02 3 door TD4. After about a month the starter motor went, so that was replaced. I then went on a trip to Grimsby from Coventry. The car ran like a dream, there and back. I got in the car the next morning and it wouldn't start, it just turned over, after about 4 attempts it...
