    Classic new lifters preload V8

My new lifters and new cam need preload setting. I didn't change the pushrods , they are ok. I compare the new OEM with the original , it s quite the same (photos) except the size of the cup that hold the pushrod inside, it's larger and deeper. I wonder if i can put the original "cup" on the new...

RRC V8 3,9 New lifters and cam with old pushrods

I v'e just put my new lifters and cam and keep the old pushrods that are in good shape. I notice the top of the new lifters is a little larger and deeper than the old one , about 1 mm, and my composite head gasket is thicker than the tin one. The result should be not enough preload for my...

Classic Vertical ridge on cylinder wall

Hi , new post for my RRC EFI 3,9 with the good title ;) I have a question and a concern about a vertical mark on one of my cylinders, it is not a scratch, it is extra thick, as if a weld had been made. My compressions are correct (12,5 bars) and the engine is not knocking. Any idea what it...

Range EFI V8 - 1991 - Viscous fan nut direction

HI everyone, Before insisting like crazy and doing something stupid, I would like to have an informed opinion on the direction of loosening the 32 mm fan nut. I read everything and its opposite: no screws on the left, on the right, unscrew in the direction of rotation of the fan, in the opposite...

Classic Range EFI 3,9 liners and cameshaft diagnostic

Hello everyone, After cleaning my pistons, which were slightly charred, I was able to take a closer look at the liners. These are for some scratched (barely perceptible with fingernails) and also with black traces of which I do not know the origin. Can this affect the proper functioning of the...

My heads are off. I just discovered my rangie has no seal on exhaust valve, and just a flat black rubber disc on intake valve. Question, should I upgrade to neoprene fully enclosed seals on all 16 valve guides ?

Range EFI 3,9 cylinder head diagnostic

Good morning, following my disassembly for my range with lower engine redone 12 years ago (very little driven since) but which notably lacked power, I took the compressions on my right cylinder head, 12 to 12.5 bars which is rather fine, except on the 1st where I couldn't take any compression...

Classic Range EFI 3,9 Intake manifold replacement
