THANKS GUYS, i drove it slowly over to my garage this afternoon and its sitting there now , im prepared for the worst and a new gearbox if need be, new clutch while they are at it and anything else that needs doing while the box is out. ill let you all know the outcome for future reference here

nothing to shout about, went from ok to nothing except 4th its an lt77 box btw

the title just about sums up the issue, lost all gears except 4th, driving along at around 50 and bang then nothing except 4th. got home via the AA and now in the process of getting it sorted. its going into a garage as i just dont have the strength anymore to lift a gearbox out but wondered...

maybe it was just the camera we bought, Maplins 70 quid effort, its in my bt50 now and although it doesnt blink as much its still a little random which drives me nuts.. i suppose the old electrics of the defender and the bump and rattle doesnt help..

I have a 110 Def with a winch bumper minus a winch, I'm looking at buying a winch to fill the void but really don't want to spend a fortune as the chances are ill hardly use it. So googling taught me there are winches cheap as chips but I don't want to buy complete rubbish. Anyone got experience...
