Rear brake backplates FL1 not needed

Thanks Nandad, I just had a very quick look through that (I'll have a more thorough look after work, thanks) … on the complaint template I found it says 'The Consumer Rights Act 2015 states that goods should be as described, of a satisfactory quality and fit for the purpose' but these...

Rear brake backplates FL1 not needed

Just rang them again and they said yes I do have rights if it was an off the shelf item but as they were a special order they can't accept the return. They can't return them to their supplier he said.

Rear brake backplates FL1 not needed

Hi, thanks for your reply Arctic2. Well, a kind friend tried to do the job first to save me some money and took one look at everything rusty under there and said we ought to replace backplates. Long story short, the job was too much for him and so I had to limp it to the garage to sort out, who...

Rear brake backplates FL1 not needed

Had rear brakes done on my '51 plate FL and bought new backplates. Turns out I didn't need them afterall and now I can't return them as they were special order! Genuine Landrover parts. Wondered if anyone doing same job needs them? I am just looking to re-coup as much of the £155 they cost me...

    FL1 intermittent acceleration problem

Thanks Stuart yes nice to get the MOT sorted but the losing power problem goes on! I will post on here if I have any further luck with it, especially disconnecting that MAF sensor. Frustrating I couldn't even undo the little nuts to get the engine cover off last time  they were so tight...

    FL1 intermittent acceleration problem

Deep joy, it has been in the garage today and they drove it about for ages and couldn't get it to do it, said it ran like a dream! Surprised as it's doing it every trip I do now?? Only thing their laptop said was 'boost pressure' even though it wasn't doing the fault, which they said was...

    FL1 intermittent acceleration problem

No he did't unplug anything sorry, just drove it to the parts place without an air filter in at all (it still did the accelerator problem thing) so he then put the new air filter in when we got back. Don't think his heart was really in it :/

    FL1 intermittent acceleration problem

Well lovely weather to be outside and under the bonnet  ...so all we got round to was changing the air filter, and you won't be surprised to hear it wasn't that haha!! Think it will have to go into the garage next week, I will point them in the direction of the turbo boost solenoid or...

    FL1 intermittent acceleration problem

That's great information thanks guys :) It's difficult to diagnose when most of the time it's running and accelerating brilliantly. Fingers crossed it's one of the not too expensive solutions you've mentioned and the Landy will live on :D

    FL1 intermittent acceleration problem

Hello Arctic2, thanks for your reply. I'm not sure about limp mode, isn't that usually accompanied with a warning light? No warning lights on mine. It does pick back up again but not usually until I've got to the top of the hill or basically until I've eased off the accelerator and will bowl...

    FL1 intermittent acceleration problem

    Freelander IRD help please

Thank you, I've passed all of this on and he's going to check those things for me when he can. Only the rigid brake pipes were changed, so that may be an answer.

    Freelander IRD help please

    Freelander IRD help please

Ok great thank you. With the mileage it's done and very little renewed on it, hope it's that as none of that sounds too expensive phew! Thanks.

    Freelander IRD help please

Morning! So ever onwards and upwards and I'm still happily running in 2WD! :) Treated it to a much overdue service and rusty brake pipes were mentioned, so got those done but if I could just pick your expert brains once again please.... the guy who's kindly doing all this work said he wasn't...

    Freelander IRD help please

Hello again, just a little update. GrumpyGel and others you were spot on with thinking this was a mis-diagnosis from the garage that wanted £3,500! Shocking! My knight in shining armour has removed the pinion from the IRD and the drained oil was clean and all was in pretty good nick considering...
