    P38 4.0 SE

Hi all. Very fortunate to find this P38 on Gumtree. When you spend as much time as I do, on a weekly basis, looking at cars and motorbikes you learn to spot the good ones! Previous owner owned it for 15 years and I had to go to Beaworthy, Devon (5 hours or so from Paddington, train and bus!)...

    Series 3 109" diesel

Hi all. I have (in the past year) bought a 1978 LWB. I drove it from Carlisle to High Wycombe earlier on this year and it performed wonderfully! Sat at around 45, sometimes 50, took just 6 hours to complete the trip. Didn't use as much fuel as I was expecting it to, either. But it has its'...

    P38A Range Rover 1997 P38 Range Rover 4.0

Hi all. I now have to sell my P38 as my Alfa Sportwagon isn't going into 4th gear so I need to buy a new 'family' car. I've owned it around 6 months and covered around 1500 trouble free miles in that time. It's been a North East car it's whole life, has low ownership and has been well serviced/...

    Wanted Throttle set up

Now then. The throttle assy on the back of my inlet plenum is damaged. I require everything which is held on by the bracket with 3 x 10mm head bolts. The dipstick for the queer box is also attached to this bracket. So everything bar the cables. I'm on 07920 787447. Regards, Stuart.

Hi all. Here is the link to my eBay listing for my RRC. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181833568023?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 It's much cleaner than average (bodywork and interior both VERY clean) but will need welding to get it through the MOT. The O/S/F inner arch is...

    P38A Fuel leak

Now then. Recently bought a nice (HA!) P38 and on the drive home it smelled of petrol. Located a leak about the first (R/H) cylinder injector, or the feed pipe above it. Is there an o ring on the feed to each injector? I only spent 2 minutes looking at it but I think there was one common...

3.9 EFI Auto won't get above second gear

Hi all. A friend drove my Range Rover to the MOT test station today and has informed me that it went into second gear and then wouldn't shift up again. It hasn't done much this last year to be honest. It's a 1992. I won't be able to look at it for another day, but could anyone please offer...

Rear windows inop - removed Circuit Board

Hi all. After doing some research into my rear windows not operating by either switches, I took the time to remove the PCB behind the glovebox. Upon removal of the PCB I am struggling to see any connections which aren't ok. Apologies for the poor photo; I used the best camera we have...

Wife's complaint about the gear change on my 300tdi.

Now then everyone. The wife has started to drive my trusty Disco every now and again and I'm getting earache about how poor the gear change is. Can't say I'd noticed it really but she's not used to this sort of car. Can anyone advise what is usually worn? Are there bushes at the base of...

    Rear electric windows inop

Now the all. After getting such good advice on a previous thread, I thought I'd ask another question! Neither of my electric windows operate. Press the switch and I can't even hear either motor trying to do anything. Are they windows fused front and rear seperately? Also, is there a...

    Heated front screen options?

Now then. I am buying another Disco this weekend, which has a cracked front screen. It's bad enough to require replacement and I was just thinking on - while I am on with replacing the windscreen, are there any options (OE or aftermarket) to get a heated front screen? They aren't half handy to...

Any Classic gurus in North Yorkshire?

Hello all. As per previous posts, my wipers aren't working. Found the fuse - that's fine. Tried removing the access panel to the motor (see if power is getting there), and I couldn't get it off for toffee. So I thought, I'll bleed the brakes one last time (replaced 3 brake lines). Put...

Wipers inop - wiper motor location?

Hello all. My wipers aren't working at all, but the 'wash' function does on the stalk. Just had a look under the bonnet to have a look at the wiper motor, and couldn't see it. I could see two access panels; one in each rear corner of the engine bay. Do I need to remove these to gain access to...

    Windscreen wipers inop

Evening all. I have a 1989 Vogue SE and the wipers don't work at all. Can someone please point me in the direction of where to start looking? I can't even see the fuse box... Admittedly, I've not spent a huge amount of time on this fault yet as I've been making up and fitting new brake...

    Speedo and Rev counter inop

Hello all. All my auxillary belts are in position and working fine, my fuel gauge and temperature gauge both work fine but my speedo and rev counter are both inoperative. Can anyone point me in the right direction where to start looking? Is there a common problem area? Thanks, Stuart.

    Bleeding V8 EFI brakes

Hello all. I've recently (past couple of months, anyway) bought a 1989 RRC Vogue. Been working my way through various jobs to get it roadworthy and next is the brakes. I've had the rear brakes all replaced with new and a few brake lines. Bled it up on the rear (N/S first, then O/S)...

How to replace a P/S pump belt?

Hello all. Got myself a nice little RR Classic as a project and it needs the belt for the P/S pump replaced. I only had a quick look under the bonnet while I was out whipping the rear hubs off, but it looked like I have to take the belt for the offside ancillaries off (as well as the...
