Hello all.

My wipers aren't working at all, but the 'wash' function does on the stalk.
Just had a look under the bonnet to have a look at the wiper motor, and couldn't see it.
I could see two access panels; one in each rear corner of the engine bay.
Do I need to remove these to gain access to under the scuttle area?
I was going to check for power at the plug to the motor as I haven't been able to find the fuses.
This is a project RRC and they've never worked!

Thanks in advance, Stuart.

depends on what you trying to do..to replace wiper assembly then yes...but you still need to get at rear of motor..thats done from under dash..where the plug is..you have checked its plugged in??

I didn't know where the motor was! Lol.
So under the dash, passenger side?
I'll have a look this weekend :)

Thanks for the replies, Stuart.

The wiper motor is under a hatch under the scuttle.. Is the motor working and the wipers not moving or is the motor not moving?

Gong under the dash is a good bit of burrowing. Getting the scuttle of can be a whole lotta fun in itself.

Report back if you need any help. I did this last summer.

So is it the two access panels at the rear of the engine bay I need to be getting into or inside the vehicle under the dashboard?

Thanks, Stuart.

*edit* in answer to your question, I'm getting nothing at all when operating the wiper switch.

Doesn't sound like anything is trying to operate.

Hi Stuart, it's not the two panels at the back of the bay. You have to remove the decker panel and you will see a hatch sorta just below the windscreen. The motor is behind this and you can remove it and test is. Removing the decker also lets you have access to the arm mechanism. This often needs some new spring washers and a bit of light grease.

This is whats behind the decker

Thanks very much for your help, everyone.
I'll get under the bonnet after work tomorrow and remove the screen wash reservoir for better access :)
Anyone have an idea if the wipers are fused? And if so, location of fuse?

Regards, Stuart.

No probs. It's the panel between the bonnet and the windscreen - where the wiper spindles come through to the wiper blades/arms.

Pain in the f'ing ass it is.
