check that your rear brake shoes are not rubbing in the drums. slacken off the handbrake cable and see if this helps. had the same problem not so long ago..

i'll do just that because the old style switch is £15 cheaper than the new wiring even and i'll get a refund on the old one. i didnt realise that they had just changed supplier and i thought that there must have been a fault on the old style switch

yes thats the one in the car but it been superseded by a new switch which requires a new harness also. different connectors....all at a stupid price.

i have bought the switch but because its different from the one fitted in the car i need to buy the harness as its not a straight swap. i paid £18 for it but the £28, the cheapest ive seen, is ridiculous price for a couple of connectors. i'll see if a LR dealer will supply the wiring cheaper...
