Freelander 2 (LR2) Freelander 2 TD4 Cut out and wont turn over (2007)

Hi all, hoping someone can help me solve a problem with my daughters car. She was diving the other day when all of a sudden it just cut out, when you try to restart the car everything goes off on the dash and it just clicks and doesnt turn over.
I thought it might be the battery so recharged over night with no success.
I can hear clicks under the bonnet and from near the glove box.

I see lots of similar problems online with no resolutions with them.

Sounds like a bad earth between the battery engine.

On the starter motor there is a little nut with a wire coming from, this will need removing and cleaning see if that helps, it should do if it does, do not rest on your laurels, as it may be short lived, most likely cause is the contacts and plunger in the starter cost of parts is about £13-£15 and an hours work to remove fit the parts and re-fit the starter, usually a new starter is not needed so be careful of garages saying it does.
