How is this possible ?

Freelander 2 TD4 2011 manual transmission, 2,2 cc today picture.

Is it chipped or remapped?

Blockage somewhere in the system?

The only simptom was "reduced engine power but I think I dorve many thousand Km with the intercooler swollen like a barrel until it begin to leak on the left side. No MIL, no error codes stored.

No chiped, no remapped, Last year changed intercooler hose, was broken and leaked

I have changed intercooler today and the car works fine. Nobody knew what to say about this, will watch if the new intercooler goes fat again

......with absolute certainty, with all clarity in my mind and above all, the most definite and underlying explanation for this is..... I don't know!!

Cut it open and take a look inside to see if it is sludged up with a tar like substance ?

Too late to cut, I threw it to the recycling. It was better to keep it. I' certain no sludge was inside. I have no ideea how much preassure can build turbocharger if boost control sensor is defective and the other end of the intercooler is blocked. Can this preassure deform in a such way the aluminium pipes. ?
