Dear Sirs / Ladies

I have a freelander td4 s on a 2005 plate, and recently had a fault with the headlights.

I still have my sidelights and main beam...both flash and permanent, yet my dipped beam seems to be completely gone.

Now the funny thing is I thought it was the bulbs as my drivers side went 1 week earlier than the passanger side. When I turned the steering wheel stick to dipped before a journey the passenger side (still working at this time ) came on then blinked off as if that one had blown???????

Not the bulbs though from what I can see?

Does anyone know what it could possibly be and come to my rescue as Ive gone through all scenarios so far....!

Any suggestions welcome before I become bankrupt when taking it into the garage???????

Cheers Guys.....!

Why do you say not the bulbs. They're both the same age, both had the same amount of use, so why shouldn't they both fail at the same time?
One advantage of the updated Freelander system is that all four bulbs are the same, so if a dip fails during a journey, you can swap it with the left hand main and keep the most essential lights working.

well I have had a look at the bulbs and they seem to be in perfect condition, it was my original thought yet am I not seeing something that I should be within the elements of the bulbs?

ok so I know I have baffled a few people and I have to now admit that I was actually looking at the wrong bulbs. Bein that this is my first freelander I was un coached and to be completley honest...stupid!!!!

I heard so many bad reviews about electrics goin wrong I instantly doubted my original thought.

ok lets hear it, say what you want now and get it over with....!haha

thanks for the replies though guy's, I have to say that this is a really great site to be a part of and that everyone takes the time to help each other out!!!

not the first. there is someone else who posted a similar thread and went so far as to checking all the fuses and wiring and relays only to find it was the bulbs. He too thought that it was something else because they both failed at the same time.
We all live and learn from each others mistakes, and save a few more pounds hopefully

My FL TD4 facelift had the same problem. Turned out to be bulbs.
Bit disappointed really as the ones in there were Osram Nightbreaker Plus and not exactly cheap. They'd only been in there for 6 months and the car has done 3K miles in that time.

That would be me!!! :D:D

In my defence it was dark when I was checking the bulbs ;)

Mistake are part of the learning process....
