Lighting gone out of control on Freelander 2

My 2007 Freelander 2 has suddenly developed a strange lighting fault. As soon as I turn on the ignition switch all of the lights come on and I have no control of them. Cannot turn them off with the switch on the right of the steering wheel and cannot switch from sidelights to headlights or dipped beam to full beam
