I was DJ with the 1st Royal Irish for 4 years, I was called in on occasions when a coy returned from a tour and had lost colleagues. It was effectively a wake army style.
I was the only entertainer they know of who offered to go to Afghan to play for the guys for a couple of weeks.
They looked after me and I loved my time with them.
So, as I said, not "only" the army. You have my utmost respect

That is probably the difference between the Royal Irish and the Irish Guards. They had a DJ in last year and while he was in the loo someone stole his laptop, which not only had his music on, had pictures of his dead daughter. After being told this on parade the next day you'd expect the laptop to reappear. But nope, the dirty thieving scumbag never fessed up or returned it (had the option to drop it off in padre's office and nothing would be said). The poor DJ was heart broken.

I have to say, I never had one single instance of things going missing in all my time with them. They were sometimes tempramental but always honest and fair.
It did take a bit of getting used to being paid in Irish 20's though

It was still Ferrisssiissssssses when I got them to jig my Jag... I bought the XK as a write off and they jigged it using two jigs as the Chief apparently wasn't strong enough on it's own.
Here's a before & after shot. Apart from the jigging & painting, I did the rebuild myself

Spent a good hour grovelling around getting damp (well quite wet really) while jet washing the underneath of my 88 classic in prep for rustproofing. Dinitrol ordered and according to Paddocks is on its way. Hope this warm weather continues and I will get down and dirty with it next week.

Don't know what the weather is like where you are, but in the UK it is much too early for rust proofing. I would wait until you have had at least two weeks of hot weather after the jet wash before applying Dinitrol.

Took advantage of a dry, sunny, day and cleaned her. That Williams waterless clean and wax is great. Used to take me hours to wash, dry, wax and then do the black bits. Took 40 minutes to do it all with the Williams. She still gets a proper wash and wax every couple of months but the Williams is great for a quick clean.

Yeah, I know what you mean. We have just had a week of warm weather (low 20's), unfortunately just seen tomorrows forecast and we have a couple of days of showers coming.
By the time thats gone through we will be in our motorhome in Portugal if things go right, so will have to wait until May now. Bummer.
