any idea what the blue light is for thats next to the blower fan switch on a 78 series 3?
dont know how to put photos on here but pic is at:-http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300611924988?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

Main beam is with the gauges. It's either brake warning or low fuel - is it a diesel?

"cos of the risk of filling the pump with crud or air the diesels have a fuel gauge and low fuel warning light. It's probably this - what colour are the wires attached to it?

Why are you selling it on fleabay

Charging light is normally on the clock with temp and fuel gauge...........my guess is its an aux warning light......fogs/reverse/spots

white and white with green tracer.

no not selling it, read the listing on flea bay it may put a smile on your face, couldnt work out how to put a photo on the forum.

Am sure when I changed the speedo on mine it was same colouring for the main beam...... Or was it the dash illumination..... Bugger, can't remember now !!!

white and white/green are the right colour codes for the low fuel light. Check the regulator output - it should be 10v.

On my old Series the blue light was for the main beam and there was a purple light for the low fuel indicator.

Hi I think you'll find that the blue light next to fan switch on the series 3 diesel is the brake servo low vacuum light, there is a switch fitted in the brake servo on some models. Also some have a blue light for low fuel.

on mine that light comes on when you are low fuel, on mine come on just under a quater of a tank, though mine is a red light not the blue...

Yup, mine's low fuel there in that position (diesel). The lamp looks white / pinky in daylight but illuminates red when below a quarter of a tank of fuel.
