    Car Insurance, bastards.

Shouldn't that just read Insurance bastards? DAS Legal insurance owe us about twenty plus grand we paid a solicitor for an employment case we won 8 months ago. DAS first said we couldn't win so wouldn't cover us, then said we had to have "their panel solicitor" for what was a complex case...

WARNING direct line insurance under 25's

They are taking the p1ss, but they might get away with it. Just make lots of noise and you may make some progress. They are required to have a complaints procedure, so make a formal complaint and follow the procedure. Try and hook into one named individual to deal with your claim and talk to...

Another WVO thread, but with a specific question...

There are loads of threads on here already. There are lots of different views ranging from "no problems" to "it completely gummed up my engine and it had to be rebuilt" , but just to give you some pointers. - you need to get the water out as well as the bits. Heating and settling for say 10...

The Big Debate - Britpart or S**tpart?

I had to replace the rear fog light/reversing light cluster on our Disco last summer and used a Britpart. This March, I took it in for the MOT and it failed on the rear fog light not showing red:doh: Only nine months old and it looked like twenty years of fading. It only had to do two things...

starter motor looks a job to remove?

I replaced mine a while ago without removing the turbo or any of the exhaust/manifold. Unfortunately it wasn't a conversion, so things may be different. I also can't remember how I did it, but I remember extensions, small spanners and hands, undoing the bolt from underneath and then some...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Changed the fuel tank which had sprung a leak. Filthy job which requires the tiny hands of a child to get to all the bolts.

    Dipstick trouble

I was having a bit of a worry about the amount of noise coming from my 200tdi. I went to check the oil (it needed a little topping up but was fine) and then remembered that the dipstick tube had been a bit loose last time I checked the oil. It seemed OK now, but the engine sounded loud and low...

Front propshaft - which way round?

You're probably right, but mine went with a big bang at 50mph:eek: so if there is a right answer, I had to check.

    Torque for transfer box flange

Sorry but my Haynes doesn't have it and I can't use RAVE on a Mac. What is the torque setting for the big nut on the transfer box that holds the flange with the captive bolts to attach the front propshaft? Defender 1993 200tdi.
