Good Morning,

tomorrow I'm doing a short trip here in Krautland, and checked me oil levels yesterday evening. Everything fine, but she stopped losing oil. At all. Neither is the engine dripping (used to be, plus one litre per 150mi), nor is the GB and tranny (used to be some drops where I park every morning. Now mind, it's a Series 3. What's wrong? I'm starting to get nervous doing 600mi with this condition....

Anyone with the same experience that you series became dry overnight?

Cheers,
Phil

Maybe the oil is full of filings and has formed a paste where the gaskets should be?

;)

I wouldn't worry about the journey, just take some oil with you ..;)

:)
@Paul: would be great. I was going to change the oil, but will have to do so after the journey... I'll see about filings then. Would be practical though. Don't change your oil, just your clogs
@theshanclan: That's why i have to strap her down every night. The buggar likes to sleep like a bat!-)

Cancel your trip and go direct to your nearest dealer, better call a tow truck!!
Must be a major problem!

@Ahaggar:
I thought the rangies as yours in your picture do have the same problem?

But nevertheless, I did the trip. Now she doesn't drip oil but water... great, water is less expensive and easier to clean off the driveway :D
