Utter ****............................part!

Fitted new glow plugs - they lasted 30 miles before the centres had blown out of them .... utter crap

my steering damper only lasted 1 outing off road,that says it all for me,i wont be buying out from them again,

were are britparts manufactured,we have problems with some lambretta parts that come in from india,surley the firm britpart dont get their stuff made in india do they???

gotta be honest iv bought tons o their stuff, all be it nothing "major"
but iv had no problems. Still wouldn't trust a major part tho

I just bought a replacement mirror glass (didn't realise it was britpart).

The plus side is that the heated bit works, but the reflection isn't very clear - it's as if the silvering is rippled or something. Hard to describe, but it's hard to see how they could mess up something like that (but they have!).

I'm just waiting for my replacement propshaft to fall off (distress purchase).

I just checked the poll results, it's interesting to see that the "utter crap" voters tend to be red or green... but no red or green votes anywhere else.

I'm new to landy's, but this is telling me: "stay away!"... good to know.

I'd only use them for non-critical stuff too. I don't think I'd use them for filters/timing belts etc. No problem with using them for body panels, repair sections etc.

Stuff like wheel bearings are so cheap for a pukka Timken/SKF item that it seems hardly worth risking Britparts Chinese copies.

I bought a britpart front propshaft and although it did work, it was a truly horrible item, the UJ yokes were really rough cast, so bulky you couldn't get a grease gun on. The whole thing looked like it had been rough hewn by a blacksmith, rather than precision made in an modern engineering works (no disrespect intended to Blacksmiths of course).

I had to replace the rear fog light/reversing light cluster on our Disco last summer and used a Britpart. This March, I took it in for the MOT and it failed on the rear fog light not showing red:doh: Only nine months old and it looked like twenty years of fading. It only had to do two things: light up and, be red. I suppose I should be grateful it lit up.

Hats off to the supplier who replaced it with a LR one for free.

There really is NO debate here, their parts are SUBstandard, they often do NOT meet the bare requirements because the parts are not formed/cast/assembled properly.

Britpart don't make anything, they put out tenders for the cheapest; SingShong casting company does it for the best price and they get the contract to make 10,000. They often don't follow the pattern properly and I would not be surprised if they just get hold of an OEM part then copy it. 1st year machining students at your local collage would be able to make better parts.

I have also found their parts to be dangerous on occasion.

I will fit Britpart light lens, thats about it, but I am aware they will fade and probably become super brittle in the space of 4 months because the plastic they use will probably not be UV rated.

**** propshafts (can't grease), **** fuel filters, **** lift pumps (mates one lasted 4 days) and don't get me started on thermostats. ****PARTS !!!!!!
"You get what you pay for" springs to mind, but if your skint as most of us are because we own a landy. What do we do ? Is there a happy medium between the ****parts and landrovers genuine ones that i can't afford as often as i would like ? If there is where do i buy them from as Paddocks seem to be britparts number one supporter ?

Worst one I had from ****part was a replacement rear crosmember for my 110. It had been jigged up all wrong and I just couldn't make it fit. The closest I could get it was about an inch too far to the left and with the body supports about an inch too high. Dunno how big a batch they have them made in but they were probably all the same. I definitely wouldn't use britpart for anything mechanical or safety critical.

Only had the landy a couple of months. Done lots of work and had a few britpart deliveries.

Exhaust, hmmm, ok I guess, but not too happy about the fit.

Temp Sender - Do'nt get me ****in started!. In short. Did not work.

Set of 4 replacement key barrels. One is different to the rest and thin metal lock cover is same as one giving me hell already on a ****e fuel cap. (Can't remember if that was britpart too, but I think so, same looking lock).

Now I'm worried that the thermostat (also britpart) is probably ****e too. I think I'll swap it out.

I for one, will now be avoiding all Britpart stuff, at all costs!

Just like the brake caliper seals/retainers for my classic,got an OE seal kit and it flew back together with no probs.It was an Ebay caliper overhaul kit of pistons + seals/retainers.the pistons were fine (not Britpart) but the seal kit (britpart) was impossible to fit.

I've had the won't fit seal kit. Bad dust seal retainers very very bad. An engineer mate of mine said it was me being heavy handed. We did a deal that he would pay for the bits and pay for some OE ones if he couldn't fit them.
I've got OE ones in my calipers now. OE bits for ****part prices, thank you ****part.
