Freelander 1 Diesel runaway on video....

Sorry disagree... I've personally done it on a Zafira which started to blow at traffic lights in front of me and no injuries. Because of the dynamics of it and valve timing etc. a diesel engine (especially turbocharged) is not an effective vacuum pump. In any event you could cut the hose and...

Freelander 1 Diesel runaway on video....

On an auto you would need to cut one of the rubber pipes on the air inlet tract and block it...

    Wheels & Tyres

As he said... but you do need to consider what the vehicle will be used for. If most of your driving is on-road with the odd green lane then 17" with the Yoki's will not disappoint. However if you are a farmer then you may be better off with the smaller rims and a higher profile tyre. Would...

Freelander 1 mot not wof just mot

The current MOT test covers only the statutory vehicle lighting system, so additional lights would only be a fail if they were the wrong colour. I haven't seen anything in the new draft to indicate any change to that.

Disco 2 Converting Spring to AIR... thats right

I have towed a 3 ton trailer with a D2 on air and then again about a month later after it was converted to springs. It towed much better on air and was more stable....

Freelander 1 mot not wof just mot

It's May that things are changing, I posted a link a few days ago, it's been widely done on other forums. FYI the trailer lighting socket is already a testable item if it is a 13-pin one. I've already bought a EGR valve and pipe for my Disco on e-bay whilst you can still get them.... Other...

Other what have u done on ur disco today

Put my 1997 300 Tdi Disco on ramps and power washed the underside and chassis prior to doing to MOT prep welding. I normally use an angle grinder to remove old, corroded sills but as it turns our a Bosch pressure washer is just as effective. Or could it be my sills were made of Weetabix?

Sticky? Britpart bits tried and trusted.

Fitted a Britpart clutch kit to my 300 Tdi Disco last year that I had bought in 2011 for my last Disco but never fitted. Had to throw out release bearing as it was not centred (i.e. bearing face was not in the middle of the hole for the input shaft). Bought a brand new one - also Britpart -...

    New tailgate regulator

^^^^^ This. If you disconnect the battery of a few minutes, when you re-connect it the window should go all the way down. You then press and hold the button (with ignition on) to raise it again, keep the button pressed for about 2 seconds after it has fully risen. That should sort it.

    Insa turbo ranger

It might be cheaper to buy a set of 16" rims - much more choice and lower cost tyres then.

Freelander Prep for towing a Caravan

Agree with this 100%, check tyres, wheel bearings, brakes, lights - and know the law. You must have a brake away cable which attaches to the car and operates the caravan brakes in the event they part company. Some DVSA inspectors can get quite 5h1tty about how the break away cable is attached...
