    Horn problems...

Hi All, I have a 1996 P38 4.6 HSE. Recently I have had a problem with the horn sounding at random moments. Sometimes it can go for days without a problem, then it will sound for no reason as I drive along. It doesn't seem to be related to any other event - such as going over a bump or pressing...

    stereo aerial x2

I have the same two ariel antenna connections and it is to do with there being an ariel built into each side of the rear windows. The Diversity radio takes both (I believe it compares the strengh of both signals and uses the stronger one), but I have upgraded to a modern stereo unit and just...

    Brake Accumilator Problems

Hello and Merry Christmas to you all! I have been working abroad for the last few months and had to leave my P38 unloved at home. Upon my return the brake pump / accumilator failed and left me with no brakes. I had a second hand pump / accumilator fitted and it worked fine - for 300 miles. The...

    Battery Charging on P38

I have my Rangie on charge whenever I am not using it for more than a week. It has no problems with the battery remaining connected and it starts when I need it! If I didn't charge it up, it would be flat in a week.

    Government Petition on Car Insurance

Fecking insurance companies - lets get them to account for themselves and their rip off premiums. There needs to be over 100,000 signatures to trigger a debate in the Commons.

    range rover p38 1995

Another area to check is the battery earth. I had a loose earth which caused the temp guage to go into the red when it became less effective.

    P38 Sunroof Blind

My sunroof material is a real mess as well. I have been advised to change the complete sunroof assembly for one which has a good cover on it. Still a pain of a job to do. Might try material glue first - you can get this from places like Hobbycraft.

    Range rover p38 roof lining

My headlining was sagging badly and I picked up a perfectly good one from a Range Rover breakers for not too much. Not too hard to change over either. There are no real fixes except to replace it. I am going to recover the old headlining with new material eventually and see how that goes. I...

    P38 Brake pump failure

Hello All, I had a brake pump failure on my P38 a couple of days ago and I was just wondering if the accumilator as well as the pump is broken. Prior to failure, the pump was making a sort of sucking noise which continued while the engine was off. It also made the same noise while driving, but...

    Never tempt fate...

Hi All, Just a few days ago I posted a comment that my beloved P38 had been working beautifully for nearly 2 years without a problem... It couldn't last, and it didn't! Yesterday saw the failure of the brake pump / accumilator :( - while heading downhill towards a roundabout... Not the best time...

    P38 questions.!!

Looks to be in very good condition to me - mine took a lot of work to bring it up to this kind of standard. It could be that the suspension is just set to its low setting for getting in / out. Make sure it raises fully and check the underside for condition of the airbags - make sure they are not...

    front door open problem.

Hi, I recently had the very same problem, but with my tailgate. The bloody beeping drove me mad until I looked into it. Turned out to be a loose connection in the tailgate loom. A bit of WD40 and a check of the wires cured the problem. Good luck.

    Engine question

Hello, I have a 4.6 P38 of the same age, and my head gasket went a couple of years ago. It wasn't cheap to do, but I have not had a single problem with the engine since then. I paid around £800 to have the head gasket done, heads skimmed and all the labour costs. But you have to remember that...

    P38 Progress

Hi All, My P38 has now been working well for some time - without braking down or anything failing! With a feeling of confidence, I have now set about some of the other tasks in a bid to improve anything and everything... I have now fitted new leather to the rear seats - not an easy job when...
