sounds like a propshaft, most likely front... check the UJs for play, you may get a squeaky noise too. Id get it sorted as you really dont want them to fail! Is it a standard disco or have you lifted it?

i had a slightly different noise like this ages ago and it was very strange but i had two loose front prop bolts loose but trapped coz the others were tight and believe it or not that was what was making the noise on mine - couldnt believe they were loose!!

just check all the sensors are pushed in - when you drive they 'knock out' to the correct distance. i just tap them in with a screwdriver and mallet VERY GENTLY as theyre bloody expensive to replace. Only other trouble is if a wheel bearing is knackered - which it wil fail MOT on anyway...
