Mine don't flash on locking/unlocking. I know there is a programme to reset it to either sidelights or indicators however my local 'specialist' can't manage it and says there must a fault in the BECM. £60 please sir to tell me that.

The distribution motor is the easiest one to get to. Assuming yours is rhd take off the under dash panelling on the driver's side and look into the middle. You'll see the motor or at least the white toothed quadrant turning (or not) when you activate the switch. If the teeth are stripped at all...

Whatever you do don't bang it shut or you'll create other problems. Once you've tried the odd adjustment lay it shut very carefully and push it firmly in the middle. If that works it was more than likely a combination of everything the others have said.

Glad to hear it. Sounded mechanical rather than electronic hence no fault showing up.

It has been flashing and it didn't kick on. My other cars both have AC and they click on as soon as you press the button. Both have Auto setting too.
-
I kind of hope that is it because believe it or not the compressor is covered in my warranty, even though the car is the age it is.

I've done a search but can't quite get the answer.
Briefly, AC worked fine after I fitted a new condenser and had it re-gassed in the Summer. In September the right hand heat blend motor stuck on cold so not the best idea for the winter and I reluctantly put the car (2000 P38) into local large...

If it does need a manual tweak, a 70/30 split, screen/ footwell is a good balance to keep the screen clear and your feet warm of course.

Your blend motor may be working and showing as calibrating but is the actual flap stuck in the heater maybe? Do you hear it opening and closing? A bit of partial dismantling on the right hand side will allow you to see the cogged quadrant which is turned by the distribution motor. The panel...

Does the tailgate lock and unlock ok? That is controlled off the driver's door lock.
-
Correct, the front shaft should be about £99. Which bush is it for the rear?
-
A front drive shaft costs £70 new and half an hour at most to fit. The other bit won't be anywhere near £500 so I'd say get a second quote.

Took the whole throttle housing off and stripped the heater cover off the underside. What a stupid design held with three scews! The plate had warped away from the middle screw and being cast when I tried to straighten it - just a little - it went Ping and is now in two halves. No problem though...

Yes its the heater pipe gasket. In situ or take the whole unit off?
-
After a few checks of the pipework, new jubilees and trimming of the hose ends I have finally noticed that my small coolant leak is from the joint in the throttle body housing. Obviously needs a new gasket but my Q is when I take the throttle body off will it fall into a million bits or is it...
