After a few checks of the pipework, new jubilees and trimming of the hose ends I have finally noticed that my small coolant leak is from the joint in the throttle body housing. Obviously needs a new gasket but my Q is when I take the throttle body off will it fall into a million bits or is it quite an easy fix? Can it be done in situ by just dropping the bottom half (once the screws are out)? 4.0 V8 Thor engine.

You can do it in situ, just need to disconnect the air in let pipe and rocker cover breather to give better access.

Took the whole throttle housing off and stripped the heater cover off the underside. What a stupid design held with three scews! The plate had warped away from the middle screw and being cast when I tried to straighten it - just a little - it went Ping and is now in two halves. No problem though as a new plate, gasket and three screws comes as a kit from LR at £15. New throttle housing main gasket too and a clean of the insides and its as good as new.
