    Electrical problem with Defender 90

    I had same problem, was the switch. Switch takes all the power, dumb. I rewired the whole lot and ran relays for everything. All good.

    I changed my 65 amp for a 100 amp alternator on my Def 300 Tdi. Doesn`t seem to put out many more amps as measured with an amp gauge. I`ve gone down this road also. Apparently the alternator regulator only lets the battery get what it needs. Also been advised not to fool with it. So don`t...

    Defender wiper issue?

    Not neccasarily the park switch. I had the same problem, changed park switch with no joy. Replaced black relay behind fuse box and wipers parked as they should. Think it was the relay for intermittent wipers. They still don`t work, but at least wipers park as designed.

    Use a Stepped drill bit, much easier to use.

    Gidday fellow Ozzie. You will find this site invaluble. There are lots of clever people on here ready to give some great advice and help when needed. I have found it very helpful. I live near Albury and steer a 300 Tdi 110 wagon. Cheers.

    Defender 300tdi temp gauge fault?

    You need the black sender not green. Green is Disco and will not talk to the defender gauge. I had the same problem recently. Broke sender off in housing and replaced with the green one. Wrong one. You get that!

    Temp gauge problem

    Yes, you can remove housing, and you have a "green" disco sender. You need a "black" defender sender.

    Wiper woes solved

    Changed the column switch, no different. Got a relay in transit at present, hopefully that will fix it.....:confused:
