Just wondering if this is a fault or normal when I put my wipers on and turn them off they stop where ever you have switched them of and do not return to the normal position

I have to just be quick at where I stop them?

James, update your profile with details of what age/model Defender you have, so folk can help you.

The park switch is on the wiper motor, which is behind the dashboard just by the passenger door. Look where the passenger dash grab handle is and you will see a section of lower dash that separates from the rest. Remove this part to access wiper motor.

LF is spot on. It may be that it only needs a spot of WD40 or, at worst, as SH suggests a new park switch.

Not neccasarily the park switch. I had the same problem, changed park switch with no joy. Replaced black relay behind fuse box and wipers parked as they should. Think it was the relay for intermittent wipers. They still don`t work, but at least wipers park as designed.

Yes possibly, I presumed it to be an early model (like mine). If it is a 300 or later model then yes it would have an additional relay.
