thanks Nodge. There are two water sensors on the thermostat top one two pin i disconected and it turns the fan on so im saying thats working. My mate run a wire from battery to the lower sensor and the gauge went up so im changing that one a 1 wire one. Maybe that will help someone else if...

freelander 1 - 2.0 l series diesel
Noticed yesterday when i had gone on a reasonable run that my water temp guage was only on 1/3 oposed to the usual half way that it always gets to and never moves from.
Today went on a shorter run and noticed that the temp guage didnt even move up

I took off the old one the big bush just fell out was completely gone. I put the new one on and then took out the two bolts on the tierod bracket that connects to the engine. Put some thread lock in and tightened up and its been fine since.
changing that bottom bracket has obviously fixed a bit...

Hello had a knocking when turning right and when it was in for the MOT and up on the ramp i could see the roll bar was off center and you could see where it had been fouling the support strutt.
Garage said it was the roll bar had rusted away which once it was off was clear it had worn the bar...

Hello guys went off to work today and noticed a clunking when changing gear, got under it and realised by bottom tie rod bracket was loose. Tightened it up and its ok bit of vibration through the cab on tick over.

your saying you only have to block off the inlet manifold one and the exhaust one isnt nessesary and you can leave it as is

I am just looking to do this EGR Blanks on an lseries. Am i correct in thinking that you remove the actual unit?
The upper one seems simple to take off (first pic), the lower one (second pic) however looks like right pig its proper rusted up onto the exaust looks like il have to drill them out...

thats for the hydo mount main mountain like nodge says top and bottom are stabalisers and not holding must weight so as far as I found they were just take of and put back on

This one was really easy
first take the top tie bar off the mount one bolt 15mm
Then push it up out of the way
Then put a peice of wood under the engine and jack it to take the weight
then get an 18mm socket and loosen the bolt on top of the mount
take the nut off
