Hi all, I'm looking to get some new windscreen wipers; my current one's are all rusty and in need of replacing (see below):

Are these original wipers? If so, where can I get them?

I've had a look on ebay earlier but none of the wipers I found have the washer nozzles? I had a read at Trew's thread on wipers:(http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f38/upgrading-defender-windscreen-washers-67811.html)
I like the idea of that but would rather get a set that would just fit without having to fiddle about too much:eek:.

On ebay I have found Bosch wiper set's for around £8 - £10 but I've also found the Silblade set's(MUDSTUFF.CO.UK, SilBlade, Land Rover Defender Solutions: West Yorkshire); these look pretty impressive but are just too expensive for my liking!

Could do with some advice:eek:

Looks like standards wipers from halfrauds or any motor factors with a home made washer system fitted to them, just swap the jet bit onto any wiper.

Are there any wipers with built in washers I can get that would just bolt on (apart from the Peugeot ones mentioned in Trew's thread)?
What do you guys use?

Cheers Ratty, appreciate that mate:cool:

If you know anyone with an Iveco van, have a chat with them and ask em for their old wiper blades when they fit new ones. They have washer jets stuck onto them. With a bit of persuasion they can be prized off.

I really ought to speak to our truck mechanics at work cos we have around 30 iveco's on the fleet.

.

same as me Renault Disaster van - four jets per blade - very fancy

Got to love a question about where you can get some wipers.....

Heres mine:

A light came on my dash today, looking through my handbook it says I need to put fuel in the 'tank'.

Can anyone help tell me what that means?

Av yer tried these from mudstuff
Available for Defender, Discovery 1, 2,3 & 4 and RR Classic

At MUD-UK we believe SilBlade® Silicone Wiper Blades are without doubt the best wiper blades you can buy for your Land Rover.
Don't believe us? Try them for yourself...

At MUD you'll have noticed we specialise in the practical and useful rather than unnecessary or superfluous. SilBlade® Silicone Wiper Blades are no gimmick. You have our word these do everything they say the do.

We first came across SilBlade® Silicone Wiper Blades on a trip to the US several years ago where we noticed almost every Defender D90 we saw had a pair fitted. Encouraged by rave reviews from SilBlade® users we decided to see for ourselves just how good they were. We brought a set back home with us in our luggage and four years later that original set of SilBlade® Silicone Wiper Blades are still as effective as the day they were fitted to our Defender. This new product was one that was literally starring us in the face! Passengers would ride in our Defender and say 'you should be selling those'. So we did...

Thanks wanderlust, did consider them but they would come to £34 plus delivery; thought they were a bit much.
Went to Halfords today and bought a set of "Bosch Super Plus" for £6.99 each. Fitted them and it's made a hell of a difference:cool:
Will give these a try and if they're no good; I'll get a set of the Silblade's.
My current washer jet system is a bit ****e as it spray's most of the water on the roof instead of the window; so I've had a google and found the following:
Stowe Landrovers & accessories - Double washer jet.
Two washer jets with tubing and instructions for £15; I might however buy two washer jets of ebay (Land Rover Defender90 110 windscreen Washer jet PRC5736 on eBay (end time 02-Jun-10 09:47:23 BST)) for £3.95 each and see if I can fit them instead;)

...... £34 plus delivery dor some fecking standard size wiper blades....not even special curved or flat ones..... someone is getting bent over!

last blades i bought cost me about £12 for 4 and they were 3x 20" and 1x 18" ..... so even if i have t change them yearly i am still up money wise and they do the job brilliantly
