Hello all of you :) my Defender 110 TD5 2004 wipers (front and rear) suddenly stopped working after I switched them on. Of course I checked the fuses and they are both fine... the water is still functioning on the windscreen... but non of the wipers are moving... no noise either!
Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot!!

go to wiring on switch and see if power in, if thats ok try bypassing switch to put power to motor (shows if switch knackered) its just a process of elimination..... is park switch ok? etc

I have been at war with the wipers on my TD5 since December 2013 and detected failures in a variety of places including
Wiper switch on steering column
Wiper "relay" (it's actually a tiny control unit with printed circuit boards inside) behind the instrument cluster. Replacing this regularly cures a number of wiper anomalies.
The wheelboxes in the top of the bulkhead. Sometimes a wheel comes loose on its spindle so one wiper stops working. Or the rack attempts to jump a tooth and jams, leaving the motor to cook itself as it's still supplied with power via the park switch.
Motor failure for other reasons.
And so on.
However, I last did a refresh of the wiper system in December 2019 and it's been pretty much OK since. So maybe I've got reliable components at last.

What's interesting is that both front and rear have gone at the same time, as the circuitry and components are different. Maybe it's a spooky coincidence. But work through it checking one component at a time and I'm sure something will work eventually.
