Parking Sensor Problem???

Hi guys

Just got a 2003 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8. Awesome car!

However, have noticed that the front parking sensors are not working. Rear are fine. Front and rear are visibly identical and a quick call to Land Rover confirmed that front sensors were fitted on the car when new.

No beeping from the front from any of the sensors - completely dead on the front.

Any idea of common causes and costs to fix?

if its had a new bumper or repair maybe its not connected. i would check physical connection

Another possibility might be the 'sounder' or its connections. Front & rear have separate sounders (they make a different noise). The front one is located on the panel above the driver's feet.

If one of the sensors was faulty would it knock out the other three? As in it's a case of all four - on none - work?

Or is it possible to have three individual sensors working fine and one faulty?

you could test that theory by looking at the back ones and finding the connection plug for one, disconnect it and see if they work still!

shouldnt be if you can diy and get the parts cheap enough.

Cost from £60 to for the 4 sensor set, then you can have one with a built in camera in the mirror (nice touch this, as you don't have to have the extra LCD screen) for about £170, you get buzzer ones, ones with a display, all types, easy to fit too, will cost about £100 and less, have a look at this site, its a good one
