YES. Zus are alloys and Mach 5's are steel.

I have gotten round that by giving the car to my other half hahaha she pays the insurance... :p

Really annoys me when you have to wait so long to get things!!!

Mine are Mach 5's. I got em secondhand from CWS in Glastonbury. I prefer em to Zu's cos they don't effect my insurance where they are steel. Insurance companies computers don't recognise aftermarket steel wheels. :p
You still need to let your insurance co know that you've changed the wheels from stock. My brother simply spray painted his STANDARD steel wheels silver instead of factory black on his Landcruiser.
When his car got written off by a drunk driver the insurance companies knocked 25% off his final settlement because in their words "he had made the car more likely to be stolen" by painting the wheels so that they were "more expensive".
The insurance company sold the car at a salvage auction and when my brother queried the fact that they only got £125 they said it was because the wheels were non standard and adversley affected the sale price.
A quick check with the auction house showed that it was one of the insurance companies vehicle examiners that bought the vehicle which led my brother to believe that it was not as badly damaged as they claimed. A full report of the damage was never forthcoming despite several requests. One by his solicitor and one by the other insurance companies solicitor.
Theiving bastards even loaded his next renewal premium.
He went to the Insurance Ombudsman and guess who's side they took?
This despite the fact that it was not stolen but hit by a drunk driver so the wheels made absolutely no difference to the risk.
The moral of the story being that they will find any reason to wriggle out of paying or to cut their liability as and when it suits.
This was no tin pot insurance company either. Without mentioning any names they have a stupid nodding dog as a mascot.

Mine are declared to the insurance company along with all the other mods.

What I mean is that most insurance companies work on a menu pricing system. It allows for aftermarket alloys but NOT for aftermarket steels. As such you don't pay extra for em.;)

They are generally overpriced rip-off merchants. It's the one time I had the last laugh.;)

I drove past and they were on a disco that was for sale. I asked how much they wanted and then when they told me I gave the money over there and then. I don't think they realised what they were worth. I paid £200 for the set. they came with colway MT tyres on em with about 10mm of tread.

I went in a couple of months back for some High back second row seats. they wouldn't sell em seperate or with the frame included. I wanted the 2 outter ones only. They wanted £180 for the 3. 2 out of the 3 were fecked anorl. They wouldn't split em. I can by the 2 I want NEW for £160.

I walked out.

on the other side, I had 235/85 r 16's (undeleared) on my disco when it was wrote off by a tw@t in a alpha i got £300 ABOVE what it was worth plus bought it back for £25 :D

When my 300tdi 110 was written off last year I got £3.5k for it off the insurance. I had it for 20 months and paid £2.5k for it when I bought it. To add to that I had stoved the back in a couple of months previous.

All mods were declared much to the annoyance of the assessor who repeatedly tried his best to find a reason for not paying out. The original offer they gave me was for £900 but for that I had to leave ALL my extras on. If I removed them they would pay less. After I finished laughing in his face I started stripping everything off. When I say everything I mean EVERYTHING. Right down to the new brake pads that I had just fitted.:D:D:D

It took 12 weeks to get my money off them but it's nice to know that if you play by their own book you can screw insurance companies legally.;)

Yeah ive gotta agree with that, i live just down the road from there and bought a viscous fan last year, after putting it on i realised it was crap so took it back only to find they would not refund me despite all their parts having at least 30 days warranty. Eventually when they did offer me a refund it was in a credit slip (your leagally entitled to a refund in the medium that you payed).

After repeated arguing i eventually got a cash refund, but they deducted a surcharge because the part "wasnt broken" depite them earlier confirming it. Although i was in a rush so couldnt have the last laugh.

A few months back i went to grab a radio housing, and bought some speakers, dash spacers and a grille badge for a fiver, so i think it depends when you go down. Theres quite a large guy who seems to be in charge of the breakers and he want there at the time. I dont write people off unwillingly, but he is a tw@t so i wouldnt be surprised if he served you.

I take it you mean the guy with the greasy, black hair that's always wearing a bodywarmer?;)

They've got a nice Y reg double cab on their forcourt at the mo. £6250 they want for it. Shame a double cab int any use to me.

Have you ever used Finlandia? I've just followed a customer down there after getting his TD5 that had cut out going. They used to be up a tiny lane just outside Glastonbury. I hadn't realised they've moved to quite a large new premises by CWS.

Yeah they used to be in a tiny place in windmill hill didnt they? It took me a while to find a good garage for my 90 but i cant reccomend them enough, really good service and pretty cheap too :D
