Your expert advice please!

After much consideration ive decided to but a Freelander. The advice i need is... which model. I cant afford the Freelander 2 model so im settling for a 53,04,54 reg. What i need to know (as ive heard this) is when did BMW start to put their engines in? Ive heard that they are much better than the previous engine and more reliable. Im going for a Diesel too which will be hopefully more economicall than my previous 3.2 shogun which literally downed the diesel in one.
As Im a lady i dont tend to know too much about cars, i just want one that wont break down, one to fit my dogs in, carry my horsey gear and one that looks nice. Id like all leather too as so much easier to keep clean when youve got horses (not that they travel inside the car!)

Any ideas are really welcome before i go and become a salesmans dream!

i thought about those but an ex used to have one and it just reminds me of carting his annoying kid around in it. I find them quite "boxy" looking too? And the disco isnt a bad shout but just a bit too big for my driveway...

Sounds like your ex has ruined the x-trail option which sounds like it might be the best option for your budget.

I would seriously consider the Discovery though, see if you can try one out or fit one on your drive for size, you might be surprised.

you mean Series??? not seen many women driving them tbh.

here we go again, freelanders got a bad reputation because of HGF with the k-series engines. there is nothing wrong with the reliability of the diesel freelanders when compared to any other landy. but remember freelanders don't suffer with the rot like all other landys do.
