We've had a freelander Td4 (bmw engine) for three years, never let us down, even last winter it started first time every time, its got the leather interior, a joy to drive, mind you it failed its MOT, i had to change all 4 of the indicator bulbs cause the orange paint was flaking off. I seriously thought the tester was joking, thats all it failed on, last year it passed first time.................BUT we are thinking of selling it and buying a 90 and already have a disco to play out in:):)

the oil light in my freelander keeps coming on but only when driving down hill!!! is there anyway to fix this? the oil level seems fine

cos you aint got a turbo.ANd she wants a dezul.

Thanks! the thread was going off on a tangent a little! Im looking at a Td4 sport for 5499 which i didint think was too bad. Ive got to have something a bit "racy" as im selling my Renaultsport! I know its a big change but if i can see the word "sport" written on it somewhere i'll at least keep some street cred. The defender isnt an option, although i may look good driving it (lol) im bound to break a nail when opening the door as they seem a bit too tough for me and although im sure they are practical for the job they do i do like a bit of comfort too! xx

td4 racy? street cred?

for me they seem ok, as i previously stated cant afford a huge range rover sport which id really like as practically ill have to have something that can get through snow, big enough for the woofers etc etc etc. And yes i meant racy in the loosest of terms!!:p

ull get a decent td5 disco for £5400. DDDDDDDDDDDOOOOOOOONNNNNNNTTTTTTTTTTTT get a gaylander. if your worried about ur finger nails. Wot u gunna do when doors fall off!! or when u get stuck on a pebble coz its bottomed out on the ****ty monocock chassi thingymabobi :D:D

the landrover ghost will haunt you for life if you get 1. Plus ull look stupid coz there gay as fooooook!!!!!

if you dont like the x-trail but need something with a bit of poke then what about the Honda CR-V?

more reliable, pretty economical and will still handle the bad weather/towing etc
