I have a Freelander 50th anniversary which I have owned for nearly 6 years. It is a beautiful car in near mint condition with low mileage and full service history, but now I fear the worst and believe it has developed the well-documented head gasket problem. As well as this its next service is due soon and the exhaust is just starting to blow. I do not think the expense of having all this work done is justified but don't know what to do as I am loathe to scrap such a lovely vehicle.
Your suggestions please. Thank you.

Buy a Haynes manual and a set of spanners and do it yourself. It's not truly yours until you've got it's juice under your nails and up to your elbows!
