that is properly shocking get the info and the pics vids etc to the police and all the info the landy was sold with and sue the garages ass for all they are worth you may not want to but that is fraud miss sale of goods sale of faulty goods etc trading standards will have fun and have a bollocking with the mot place as well as they are clearly not fit to give any vehicle a mot

Dear god! I'm gobsmacked by that. I thought I was sold a lemon. It's taken me nearly a year to get mine somewhere near running right, but this is appalling, I'm amazed that garages could bear to put their name to work like that, especially as obviously something has been tinkered with, why no just do it properly.
Don't beat yourself up over it though Sarah we have all at some point been sold a lemon regardless of sex. Least you are getting it sorted. :)

At this moment in time I am waiting to speak to trading standards (they're busy and I have to wait for them to call me :( ) to find out what my position is regarding all the issues and hopefully will be able to get the ball rolling and stopping these bastards selling a death trap to someone else too!

So for now I cant name and shame sorry...believe me - I want to put a banner up!!!

we are all behind you on this
lo

You bet we are, this is absolutely appalling. I would never have believed a vehicle in this condition could have passed an mot. That is of course, if this was the one presented for the mot?

Well that is all part of the issue , wether it was or not -something was seriously amiss!! I am still waiting for the return call:mad::mad::mad:

West Yorkshire Trading Standards are based in Leeds, 0113 253 0241

Try giving them a call ... just to remind them that you're still waiting for a call back.

You heard from trading standard yet Sarah?

To those who want Sarah to take things further, she did take advice last night, she has owned Dave for three months today and its three months since his MOT. Apparently you cant complain about MOTs after that long.

Sarah had a choice whether to put it on a trailer, get an independent report and sue or Neil would fix enough to make it safe. She needs her car and thought the chances of the garage fixing it properly were poor and getting money back non existent.

There is enough still wrong with Dave for a case :D Neil only fixed the dangerous bits, by 1.30am he ran out of time for anything else.

good

All so you shouldn't have to be a mechanic to go and buy a vehicle,
It just a shame there is so many crooks about

That ball join scairs me just dropping off it must have been shagged for ages

Sarah If it makes you fel any better Mine was in a very similar state. Front axle & suspension were fooked, Chassis was rotten & much worst than yours. So as said we all make mistakes. I console meself with the fact I bought it unseen "Cos it had a 12month MOT" & an hole in the front chassis leg that I could get my hand inside.. Though It was described as been in VGC... So chin up and soldier on...

There are a lot of weird features there. Somebody's bought and fitted expensive tubular shock mounts but not bothered with the turret rings which cost about a fiver. They've fitted expensive performance radius arms (QTs aren't they?) and not fitted washers or new bushes where they join the chassis. Terrafirma shocks but it looks like the old perished bushes have been put back on with them. So somebody's spent money on accessories but just not bothered with the other pocket-money-priced bits to get them to fit properly. Looks strange to me.

Neil described it as having been "rolled in glitter"

Not wanting to put a dampener on anything but trading standards as an organisation don't do anything useful on anyone's behalf usually. They will log complaints to see if there's a pattern with a particular business but for specific complainants they'll just refer them to the civil court system.

If it makes you feel any better my series is a heap of **** as is the golf  that had a cracked head gasket and I didn't realise……bastard thing only pressurised if you were going 80 or higher

But look at the adorable sloth :D
