I've since painted the cross member, but even after the tidy up it is going to still shout farmer!

Although looking a little less like a farms landy now the rusty bumper has been replaced, and the finishers and grille have been sprayed! Wheels next

Looking good. Lift it bang some 265/75/16 MT's on it. winch bumper and roll cage! Wont look like a farmers landy after that!

The urge to splurge on some black modulars with 265's is huge, but it is going to be a daily vehicle for a while, so I should really resist a lift and big tyres to help keep the mpg half sensible!

It is hard enough going from a 55+mpg golf to a 25-30mpg fender as it is, but I've wanted one for ages, so I thought sod it!!

Just need to get the new outrigger on and change the timing belt and get it MOT'd.

Pish lol. I have gone from using my mums golf tdi (aka red shed) and back to getting my 3.9 v8 disco sorted sod the fuel. Land rovers give SMILES per gallon not miles per gallon!

'SMILES per gallon not miles per gallon' - I like that!

Hard to beat the vag tdi!

Thanks!

I'm not too fussed about a few scuffs, but it would be nice to sort out the scabs on the rear.

Do you know who sells the tdi/90 decals for them - other than going to an LR dealer?

Cheers

lol i started with pretty much the same, colour and year too.....its even more of a wreck now but yer can eat yer dinner on the running gear and chassis lol.....fuk em..:D;)

I quite like the idea of being able to skulk about doing a bit of off-roading where I probably shouldn't, and get away with it as people think 'oh it's just the farmer'! ;)

prehaps your plan is flawed....

Change the wheels / tyres to some black modular and some AT tyres and it will transform it :)
I know - don't I'm trying to save money for the house extension! I'm keeping an eye on ebay for a bargain I might just be able to justify. ...

possibly..

TBH i was quite put out when a brand new vouge came across a ploughed field with road tyres on to ask me if the work was going ok...:D:rolleyes:
Fair play at least the rr gets it's boots dirty unlike most.
I remember this little jap 4x4 match the 110 while out hunting on boxing day - I thought 'he won't follow me...' and he did with seeming ease!
