The wipers on my 300TDI don't stop at the bottom of the screen - just anywhere at random.
The wash cycle also stops at random on the screen, as does the intermittent wipe - so I can't use that.
So I took the mechanism to bits & oiled all the links so it runs very smoothly now - but still parks at random.
Do I need a new motor? or is there some other way of setting the parking area?
Thanks. :)

Due to where you've posted this thread we can't give you an answer. This section is about the engine in your vehicle. The 300tdi engine was fitted to the Rangerover, the discovery and the defender. Therefore we don't know which model your engine is fitted to so cannot give you the answer.

The internal 'park' switch is most likely broken.
My discovery did the same thing, i removed the wiper motor, drilled out the rivets to gain access to the park switch internals and found that one of the contacts had melted through the plastic part of the switch mechanism.
i filled it with bodyfiller, replaced rivets with bolts and its been working ever since.

could also be worth checking the wiring to the motor, the 2 seperate wires are for the park switch.

The plastic trim is a nightmare to get off and on though.
